1. What is your regular skin care regime?
The most effective skin care regime for me is taking care of myself from the inside going out. I believe that the state of your soul and the state of your organs is what determines how your skin looks. I drink lots of water and I have found that when I eat plenty of raw foods and vegetables, it shows on my skin. Getting adequate rest is important, as is doing things that give me joy. Constant stress and negativity will age your skin faster.
2. Do you Exfoliate your skin?
Even though it is recommended that one exfoliates on a weekly basis, my skin doesn’t respond well to aggressive manipulation, so I try to be as gentle as possible with it. I listen to my skin. If my skin has a rough film even after cleaning, then I know it’s time to exfoliate. I do so by steaming for 5 minutes followed by a home-made natural mask made of turmeric, plain yoghurt, besan flour and either honey or lemon juice. I keep this on my face for about 15 minutes, wash it off, and pat dry with a fresh towel. Exfoliating helps my skin absorb moisture and gives it a glowing look.
3. How do you protect your skin when you have back-to-back shoots that require extensive work schedules with daily heavy make-up use?
I keep my skin moisturised and use a pure oil as a base. This can either be olive oil, or Bio-Oil. Oils nourish the skin longer especially after baths when the skin cells are soft and soak up all the goodness of your oil. I use oil as a make-up remover as well, then rinse it all off with plain water.
